My Reason for Starting Hifz

It's quite an embarrassing reason actually! Well... It was at my school's annual Qiraat Jalsa in 2010 when I sat on that Musallah, tears rolling down my cheeks and a strange feeling building up inside me, as I listened to the beautiful recitation of the Noble Quraan recited by none other than my school colleagues and close peers. Listening to them chant the Glorious Words of Allah, I wondered how it felt to have the Quraan so close to your heart that your every movement is inspired by the Quraan. I yearned to be among those who would drink, eat, sleep, breathe and live the Quraan. In such a way that when they recite the the Holy Quraan, they would recite with such passion and humility that tears would roll down their cheeks.
